MAX MCGEE'S PROFILE
I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.
I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.
"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!
Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."
- TW/IFS, "All The World Is A Stage Dive"

Things you've outgrown?
What find I is that everything I "Grow out of" even if it's for years, I grow back into later on when I'm much older and more mature.
RPG Maker is a great example (I've been in and out of it since high school.) Another example is Magic The Gathering, which I grew out of in high school but picked up again in my junior year of college because my girlfriend played.
I mean, I dunno, I've obviously outgrown all of the stuff I liked when I was a real, real little kid. For instance, I (generally) no longer dress as a ghostbuster.

Music in an RPG Maker game
Not everyone is a composer, nor an artist, nor a programmer, and not everyone wants to be one.
Uh, I do hope you know that in the most basic and literal sense of the word, as well as the SPIRIT of the word, EVERYONE WHO MAKES RPGMAKER GAMES IS, IN FACT, A PROGRAMMER.
Versus Xerza 01: Ultimate Showdown
is the first in a series of Versus Xerza games made in RMVX.
When's the next one coming out, by the way?
I have not finished or even played this one yet, I'm just curious.
[Demo] MAGE DUEL
So now you know why making RM games is so depressing (I am referring to your title).
HUZZAH, CHEESY PROMOTIONAL GIMICk #513 WAS A COMPLETE SUCCESS AND MY TOPIC LIVES AGAIN!
Oh and outta those 2000, about 50 are actually active.
Really? My guesstymate was that out of the 2,337 members, 37 had played Mage Duel, 300 were inactive, and 2,000 went on the site sometimes but still hadn't played.
I'm sure we don't have 2,000 inactive members. Probably more like 1,000 inactive members. Which means we have 1,337 active members! OMFG!
TARGETED
Craze, did you finish the demo? Thoughts on the endings?
LittleWingMan, be sure and let us know what class you play when you finally get around to MAGE DUEL.
On the subject of exposure, YOU can HELP MAGE DUEL!
(Literally, I am so afraid this will inexplicably cause needless controversy, I have spoiler-tagged it.)
I'm asking a favor from one of you who is an active member of the Gamingw forumunity in basically good standing. I would like one of you wonderful people who has noticed the existence of this topic and still hangs out on GW to go ahead and basically create a topic informing people there of Mage Duel's existence and linking to its RMN game page. Copy pasting my first post in this topic is fine, just include a line or two indicating the game is Max McGee's and not yours.
The obvious question: Why do this AND why don't I do it myself?
Well, I don't go to GW any more, and a lot of people who don't check RMN still do. (It's more that I won't go than that I can't; I was never banned from there. But I actively make it a point not to go there.) If you think that's silly and I should "Get over it and go there", that's fine, your opinion is noted and respected, but I really am totally unwilling to get into a debate about it here. Maybe it's silly, but it is my decision.
So why argue with me about it when it would take you all of 1 minute of your time to create a Mage Duel topic on GW, or 0 seconds to just shake your head and ignore my request, whereas it could waste literally DOZENS of minutes of both our lives to argue about it.
Anyway, the first guy (or gal!?!?) to do this (correctly, please make sure the topic there doesn't violate any of their rules, etcetera.) can beta test the rest of the game, if they want to? I dunno, it's the only incentive I can offer right now, but even that is kind of doing me a favor, I know, unless like you REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE MAGE DUEL.

Release Something! Day IV: Discussion Thread!
Honestly didn't mean to start anything with download count so totally sorry!
First off, no one is mad at you bob. :)
WOW I had no idea I was on indiegames.com.... this is a true freak of nature!
Secondly: WOWZERZ, BOWZER. This happened without you having any idea of it? That is really incredible, and also makes me really wonder even more what their criteria/process for selecting RM games is. But these two things happen. Like apparently, Mr. Y (anyone remember him?) wrote a very flattering review of an rm2k game I released in 2002ish and I didn't actually stumble upon or read this review until LAST YEAR.
OT:
Max have gotten my messages?
@Mr. Nemo: Yes.
Music in an RPG Maker game
No offense, dude, but I HATE the music in 1873, at least the battle and menu music. It is painfully unwesterny.
Changing Parallax Backgrounds In RMVX (now in sentence case)
Does anyone know by chance if there's a way to reproduce the old "Change Parallax Background" event command in RMVX? I didn't find anything relevant with a cursory google search and as far as I can tell none of KGC's scripts cover this function.
For the record, I'm not looking for an animated parallax background script or anything that fancy, just one that will allow me to change the background image and scrolling rate.

Well may as well intro!
Well, obviously you have a healthy appreciation for the undead, specifically q.v. liches, which I respect.
